The Power Of Exercise In Trauma Recovery
In this article, we’ll explore why trauma management exercises are important and how they can help you manage the effects
Whether it’s in the office, on the court or in a studio, there are times when we want to perform at our best. Consistently accessing a flow state when needed is, however, notoriously tricky, even among the elites.
Finding consistently outstanding mental performance is about having access to different brain states. For many of us, this is all but left to chance. On some days, we find ourselves dialled in, and on others, we’re just not. Others work at it, with sports psychology, meditation and visualisation, all of which have an excellent track record for upgrading our ability to access the brain states we want when we need them.
DeepWave Brainwave Entrainment light sessions trigger light-sensitive brain cells into brain states associated with the flow. Accessing flow can improve focus and productivity, support mental clarity, and increase motivation and creative expression by targeting a mixture of beta, gamma, alpha and theta brainwaves.
We can focus on helping boost creativity and support athletic endeavours either prior, during or after training and events by helping reach flow states.
Supporting Clarity, Flow & Focus!
Sudden Insight
Length: 30 minutes
Purpose: Idea Creation / Problem Solving / Inspiration / Ah-ha Moments
Feeling: Buzzy, Clear Thinking, Focused
Frequencies: Theta (7.83Hz), Alpha (10.20-11.20Hz), Gamma (40Hz)
‘Sudden insight’ is based on research around ah-ha moments and insight. Not only does this session follow the EEG driven research around brain activity during insight and eureka moments of inspiration and solution finding, but the effect is a powerful trip into building a bridge between your conscious and unconscious mind.
Sometimes seen as divine inspiration or intervention, sudden bursts of insight often come when you least expect it. ‘Sudden Insight’ is designed to accelerate that process, giving you a break from the outside world whilst you drift off into the depths of your mind.
Peak Performance (Three Sessions)
Length: 20 and 30 minutes
Purpose: Sports and Academic Performance, Brain Workout, and Training
Feeling: Grounding, Relaxed.
Frequencies: Delta, Theta, Alpha, and Beta (depending on session)
Peak performance has three stages: preparation and training, performing, and recovery.
Whether you are talking about sports or academic performance, the stages are the same. The only difference is a bias one way or the other toward mental agility or physical agility.
Learning to get from brain states of excitement, anticipation, and performance anxiety to a state of calm focus at the right time and place is the goal. These sessions target the main brain frequencies that research and findings point to as being involved during peak performance, Theta, Alpha, and Beta. Each session targets a combination of frequencies that support staying in a ‘flow’ state where movement becomes almost intuitive.
Creative Solution
Length: 30 minutes
Purpose: Creative Inspiration, Problem-solving, Think-itation (Meditative Thinking)
Feeling: Relaxing, Stimulating.
Frequencies: 40Hz, 7.83Hz Gamma plus mixed Alpha, SMR and Beta
Inspiration and creative ideas come to you almost in the very moments when you consciously stop thinking about the problem or task. When what’s in front of you is accepted as knowledge and gets put to the side as you let your mind go wherever it may take you. This session encourages this style of free-flow thinking. It can be used as an idea generator for a specific task or problem or simply as a way to enter the realm of creative thought and creative trance states.

A single session is ideal if you are looking for a mental reset, support for a creative idea, or if you need to switch off for a few minutes. Repeat this as necessary to help add calm and balance to your life.
We recommend a course of sessions if you are looking at supporting a specific outcome. A course typically lasts five or ten weeks, where one or two light sessions per week can be scheduled.
This course protocol is then repeated every 2 to 3 months. Maintenance or relaxation sessions can be completed weekly or fortnightly during this more focused period; this is especially recommended if work or life stresses are significant.
